4P beneficiaries who got education aid must return money – DSWD

Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries who received a educational cash grant by “mistake” on Saturday by will have to “refund” the money, Social Welfare Secretary Erwin Tulfo said Monday, August 22.

According to Tulfo, money will be taken out of next 4Ps grants, but won’t happen abrupty. “Pero hindi naman biglaan,” he assured.

Tulfo previously stated that 4Ps beneficiaries are no longer eligible for the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s educational assistance for needy students (DSWD).

At the beginning of the distribution of the education support on Saturday, August 20, there were lengthy lineups of students and their parents or guardians outside DSWD offices, which caused chaos and uncertainty.

Tulfo has previously expressed regret for the occurrence.
