Nadine Lustre’s “burns” online basher with a clever comeback
Nadine Lustre did not it take it sitting down when an online basher said the actress looked old because of her “dirty and dry skin.”
The brief but fiery exchange started when Lustre addressed the comments she has been receiving about changes in her appearance, specifically those that come with aging, through a Twitter post on Sunday, Oct. 23.
In the post, Nadine said “I find it so weird when people say I’ve changed and I look older. What? Were you expecting me to be the same person when I was 21? I’m turning 29 next week.”
That would have been the end of the matter to decent people with half a brain. But this was Twitter, where anonymity emboldens some people to openly diss others, no matter how stupid or uncalled for their observations are.
A netizen going by the handle @wokegirlash quoted Nadine’s post with the reply “Gurl ang dumi at dry kasi ng balat mo kay mukha kang matanda.”
Lustre fired back by tweeting, “At least ‘di kasing dumi ng ugali mo.”
Lustre’s clever comeback has earned almost 27,000 likes and more than 500 replies, with supporters applauding the actress for putting the basher in their place.
The basher @wokegirlash, who follows 5 accounts and is followed by 9 others as of this writing, went private as soon as Lustre lobbed her incendiary clapback. In social mediaspeak, they are probably applying ointment to the burned area.
