UP is top PH university in 2023 QS Asian university rankings

The University of the Philippines is the best institution of higher learning in the nation. according to the latest Asian university rankings by higher education information analyst Quacquarelli Symonds (QS).

The list, which was made public on Tuesday, included sixteen additional regional universities.

Ateneo de Manila was ranked 134th, De La Salle University was ranked 171st, and University of Santo Tomas was ranked 87th overall in Asia (175). The final spot in the top five was taken by Ateneo de Davao University, which scored between 551 and 600.

Ateneo de Manila University came in at number 26, De La Salle University at number 38, University of Santo Tomas at number 41, and Ateneo de Davao University at number 18 in Southeast Asia (88th).

There were 760 universities throughout Asia altogether.

“Key indicators used to formulate this year’s rankings include academic and employer reputations, the number of staff holding a PhD, and the percentage of international students,” said QS Quacquarelli Symonds.

With a total score of 100, Peking University is the top-ranked university in Asia, and National University of Singapore was ranked first in Southeast Asia with a score of 97.4.

UP was ranked first among Philippine universities on an earlier report published by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) in June, despite dropping from its positions of 399 in 2022 and 396 in 2021.
