Smart, Globe release SIM registration FAQs
Globe Telecom and Smart Communications, Inc., the country’s leading telecommunication providers, have issued guidelines on how their subscribers can register their SIM cards in compliance with the Republic Act 11934 or the Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) Registration Act.
Signed into law on October 10, the SIM Registration Act seeks to regulate the distribution of SIM cards in the country amid the rise of text scams.
The National Telecommunications Commission released its implementing rules and regulations (IRR) on December 12.
According to the IRR, subscribers are required to register their SIM cards with their telecommunication providers within 180 days from the effectivity of the law.
SIM registration is slated to commence on December 27 through websites specifically set up by Smart and Globe for the purpose. In this regard, both Globe and Smart have issued Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) to guide subscribers on the SIM registration process.

All Smart Prepaid, Smart Bro, and TNB subscribers must register through https://smart.com.ph/Pages/simreg . Postpaid subscribers will be notified and will be asked for their confirmation. The personal details and documents they have provided to avail of a postpaid subscription will suffice for SIM registration. More details can be found on Smart’s Facebook post.
Meanwhile, Globe subscribers can learn more about SIM registration by going to https://www.globe.com.ph/help/sim-registration-act.html
Postpaid and Platinum customers, who have already provided their personal details and documents to avail of a postpaid subscription, are already pre-registered.
