Netizens slam timing of PBBM-Sara YouTube vlog collab in light NAIA air traffic control mess
President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. uploaded a vlog collaboration with Vice President Sara H. Duterte on January 1, 2023, but netizens were not feeling the Happy New Year spirit.
Marcos and Duterte, his 2022 running mate, appeared in a video titled “New Year vlog: Kapalaran sa 2023″ on his YouTube channel. Wearing gray hoodies, the two shared their resolutions and discussed their predictions for 2023.
For her resolutions, Duterte would like to sleep more. “Matulog nang mas mahabang oras, paabutin ng 8 hours ang tulog, ‘wag lang 5 hours,” she said. Duterte is also the country’s education secretary.
Marcos said he wanted the same for himself, noting that he needs to “learn to rest” because he was getting sick. Marcos had developed a cold during his quick trip to Belgium in December. He also said he hoped to spend “more time with family” in 2023.
Taking Marcos’ hand, Duterte played fortune teller about and predicted a new addition to the President’s family, a granddaughter, in 2023.
Meanwhile, Marcos predicts that Duterte will be in public service for the rest of her life because she “has the heart of a mother.”
The vlog was uploaded on the same day that thousands of passengers were stranded when the Ninoy Aquino International Airport suffered a massage technical glitch that resulted in hundreds of cancelled or delayed flights.
The timing could not have been worse, and netizens slammed the President for being “tone deaf” to the suffering and problems of his people.
