Marcos supports peaceful resolution of Ukraine conflict in phone call with Zelenskyy

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. expressed his support for a peaceful resolution of the ongoing Ukraine-Russia conflict during a phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Monday, February 13.

“I had the pleasure of talking to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy yesterday (Monday),” Marcos said on his official Twitter account on Tuesday morning. Zelenskyy had tweeted about his phone call with Marcos the previous day.

“I told him that we in the Philippines are watching with admiration, the bravery and the nationalism that has been displayed by the Ukrainians during this crisis and that we join in his effort to reach a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict in his country. Mr. President, we are with you in your search for peace,” he added.

Ukraine has been in conflict with Russia since February 2022, leading to the death of thousands and millions of Ukrainians fleeing the country.
