Road repairs in 3 NCR cities scheduled for long weekend

Repairs are scheduled to be made to a total of 14 road sections in three Metro Manila cities, beginning 11 p.m. Friday, August 26, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has announced.

The DPWH warned in an advisory that the renovations will result in severe travel delays over the long weekend, especially in the cities of Quezon, Makati, and Pasig.

The following four portions of Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (Edsa) northbound will continue to have lanes reduced for road reconstruction activities: bus lane after P. Santolan Metro Rail Transit (MRT) Station; after P. Third lane from the center island on the Tuazon Flyover to the Aurora Tunnel; third lane from the center island on New York Street (intermittent segment); and third lane from the center island on Kamuning and Kamias Roads to the JAC Liner Bus Station next to the center island in Quezon City.

In addition to the U-turn service road in front of the GMA Network Center, the third block service road at the intersection of Kamuning Road, the second block service road in front of Kamuning Police Station 10, and the stretch of Edsa southbound from Balingasa Creek to Oliveros Footbridge in Quezon City are all affected lanes.

Fairview Avenue southbound, first lane from center island, from Fleur de Lis Street to Labayane Street; Cloverleaf northbound, outer lane, from Edsa to North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) segment; and Roosevelt Avenue at corner Edsa, outer lane, are other QC road segments that are affected.

The service road in front of the Global Oil gas station in Pasig City, the corner of CP Garcia Avenue after the intersection, and the second block from the center island in Quezon City are also affected by C-5.

In Makati City, the second southbound lane will also be blocked off for reblocking.

While repairs are being made, drivers are urged to use other routes.

At 5 a.m., all impacted roadways will reopen. August 30th.
