Red alert as Central Luzon braces for Super Typhoon “Karding”
In preparation for Super Typhoon Karding, the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Operations Center (RDRRMC) declared its operating center to be in “red alert status” on Sunday.
The provincial, city, and municipal disaster councils throughout the region are now closely monitoring the situation as “Karding” further intensified as it moved westward towards the northern portion of Quezon-southern portion of Aurora, according to Cesar M. Idio, chairperson of the RDRRMC and regional director of the Office of Civil Defense-Central Luzon (OCD-3).

Idio claimed that the local disaster risk reduction and management councils have been given the go-ahead to, among other things, strengthen localized warnings to communities, conduct a pre-disaster risk assessment, get ready for potential preemptive evacuation, and closely monitor the situation in their respective areas of responsibility.
He issued a warning to locals in low-lying regions to be on the lookout for potential flash floods.
In Aurora, Governor Christian Noveras issued an order that, as of right now, forbade participating in water sports like as sailing, swimming, and fishing.
The provincial administration of Nueva Ecija chose four locations as temporary shelters for potential evacuees. These include the Palayan City Convention Center, the NEUST Gym, the Nueva Ecija High School Gym, and the Old Capitol Compound in Cabanatuan City.
All tourism-related activities in Tarlac are halted on Monday.
The emergency operations center of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, presided over by Governor Dennis Pineda, has been activated in Pampanga.
According to Pineda, the PRDRRMO has already set up its equipment for rescue efforts.
The province government has set up its evacuation facilities, including the Bulacan Sports Complex and the provincial gymnasium, to temporarily house citizens in flood-risk regions, according to Bulacan Governor Daniel Fernando.
The emergency operation for the province of Bataan is now ready, according to Governor Jose Enrique Garcia III, and all relevant authorities are on high alert to carry out a quick evacuation and provide relief.
The governor of Zambales, Hermogenes Ebdane, on the other hand, said that a council meeting was held to guarantee readiness for the super typhoon.
On Monday, all levels of instruction were canceled at the area’s public and private schools.
Similarly, work in government, except for those departments and offices involved in disaster and emergency operations, was also suspended in the provinces of Nueva Ecija, Bataan and Tarlac.
